Greetings Bootpackers!
We are looking forward to another season of basal layer compaction and shear plane disruption! We still have a few weeks to go until the early season snow starts piling up and we have to get to work. In the meantime we want to share some basic info about the program:
We will have our annual meet and greet / informational meeting on October 17th at 4:00pm outside at the Highlands base area. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or green as a gourd, we encourage everybody to attend. It’s a great way to learn about the program prior to day one, learn about any changes from years past, and also meet fellow bootpackers. In the meantime keep your eyes on highlandspatrol.com for any informational updates regarding the program.
If you haven’t already, please sign up on the “Bootpacking” tab above and learn more about the program prior to the meeting. Pending storms and snow accumulation we hope to be able to start bootpacking the first or second week in November–Stay Tuned!
Please try to save your questions for the meeting so we do not have to repetitively answer the same questions, if you are unable to attend or have a question that can’t wait please direct your question to highlandspatrol@gmail.com with “bootpacking question” in the subject line.
Thanks again for your interest in the program and we look forward to working with you all this season.
